In this video we look at the Hearing Rule of Natural Justice, which states that a person adversely affected by an administrative decision has the right to know, and to answer, the case against them.
Davis v Commissioner of Police (Police signals to driver)

In this transport law case, the court found that in order to direct a car to pull over, police must activate BOTH their lights and their sirens. One without the other is insufficient. If my videos are helpful to you, you could always buy me a coffee! www.buymeacoffee.com/Anthslawschool

Toyota v Dennis (Use of force to reclaim goods)

Admin Law 2024, Week 6 Video 5: Wednesbury Unreasonableness
Thank you for this video! I find them very interesting and informative.
I got a 7 in my torts course (High distinction) last year and work in the area for an insurance company. I am watching this lecturer to provide me with some information on how to deliver a fairly succinct, short style presentation to my team on torts law and negligence and there are some really useful tools here! In fact, some of the torts that I am not frequently exposed to on a regular basis are included in this video and it is really entertaining. I should probably save this for later though... Gotta get back to studying Environmental Law and Equity/trusts!
Interesting decision by the learned judges.
Awesome 👍, I’m watching this from Saudi Arabia for two reasons, first is to learn about law for sure, and second is to improve my English specially legal vocabulary so thank you so much ❤
Brilliant videos. You have a craft for storytelling, which ties in beautify with teaching.
Thank you so much for these videos, Anthony! Please upload some on the Australian legal system. It’s so confusing
Thanks. I was looking for case laws under golden rule. From India ❤
This is great content to watch, particularly so when I find the judgments too difficult to read, understand or simply too long. It makes the crux of an issue that I am studying at law school, become much clearer and easier to understand. Thank you!
@ ~0:20 you got that right. Administrative law is a "priestly" subject. It is the domain of the eunuchs, scribes, clerks, bureaucrats, and priest actually ruling over We the People. Guess what and ponder this, here in Los Enados Unidos (presently English for The United Sates,) and especially here in Pennsylvania, We the People have a right to trials by jury. The notion that glorified clerks dressed in a robes can judge me on anything whatsoever is an anathema to me and contrary to my rights enshrined under the both the Pennsylvania and federal constitutions. Anywho LOVE you in Philadelphia. Well Done! Adios, Jack Harrowgate, Philadelphia, PA ---- USA ----
Hello, wouldn't Liberia and Ethiopia be able to bring the case to the court and claim it has standing under erga omnes? The right to self-determination has jus cogens status so surely this would work no?
Anthony, I have a question about the matter of NZYQ v Minister for Immigration [2023] HCA 37. As per the case summary on Austlii, "In May 2022, the Plaintiff wrote to the Minister’s Department, asking to be removed to another country. The Department has not since identified any viable options for the removal of the Plaintiff from Australia. In view of the finding of protection obligations owed by Australia, and no relevant change in circumstances in Myanmar, the Plaintiff cannot be removed to Myanmar under the Act". Regarding the protection obligations owed by Australia, how does that outweigh the safety of the Australian public when his offending involved r@ping a child? Has there been no legislation put forth to stop the release of illegal immigrants who commit serious offences?
Moustache looks great 👍
Another superb brake down.
Just GREAT ! , about sum's it.
Good day Dr Marinac, I've watched your admin law in 2 hours video and it was beyond helpful, I was wondering if you could make more videos like that for 4th year law modules like company law.
Brilliant! The type of advice we all need. Thanks Doc!
Well done, this has been an informative session and well presented piece of work. #sinkalaism
You mention that the contractor hadn't been paid. Was there a retention of title consideration for this case?
Nicely presented.
thank you
Doing the lords work for law students. Thank you, sir.
what a legend thank you
Thank you very much Anthony, this has been a great resource. Also, I would like to say that thanks to your 2 hour videos on tort law, I passed my assignment with an HD. So thanks, mate, keep going 👍 👏
Pretty awesome for this riding 2L
God bless your soul, really good content for my international law class!
You're very welcome, and I wish you every success for your class!
2nd year law student here.. I've been doing okay with my law units but as soon as I started constitutional law it just wasn't staying in my head. I have an essay due about altering the constitution in a couple days that I was really struggling with and this video has helped me so much. Thank you kindly :)
You're very welcome! I hope you nailed the essay :-)
Thank you.
You're very welcome!
who's watching this in 2024? thank you for explaining admin law just in 2 hours!
You're very welcome!
I am a Barrister of England and Wales, currently living in Australia and working my way through the Australian transference course and can I just say- you are AMAZING! The way you explain and break things down is just the best! Thank you thank you thank you! Ever grateful <3
Hey thanks so much! I really appreciate your comment, and welcome to the profession here in Australia!
@@AnthsLawSchool Thanks very much! Please keep sharing your wonderful work with us.
Polisario front البوليساريو
Thanks for watching this video. The Polisario Front was not really discussed during the case that is reported in this casenote though.
Just say that you want Western Sahara it’s like it’s a separate country to you. It’s like you’ve went to the Sahara. Listen, buddy. I am a Saharawi I disagree with ur opinion I’m Moroccan and I’m proud of that may god help us Moroccans against this corruption even u Australians are ruining Moroccan symbolism
What on earth are you carrying on about? I very clearly didn't pick a side in this casenote. I don't know, nor do I even really care, who ought properly to have control of the Western Sahara. That wasn't the point of the casenote. I can promise you that most Australians couldn't find Morocco or Mauritiana or the Sahara on a map. That's why I included a map. You have a nice day though.
Super
Thanks!
Thanks a lot you enlighten us, my ALLAH blessed you
You're very welcome, and I'm glad you found these materials helpful.
this man is gonna get me to pass my armed forces exam bless
As an ex serviceman myself, I wish you the very best!
@@AnthsLawSchool Thank you! I passed with a distinction. This was really helpful hehe
These videos have been a great resource for me in deciding whether or not I would like to study law. I've found the content of these videos to be fascinating, and I will be applying to law schools this year!
That's wonderful! All the best for your studies.
Hahah I am from Uganda and we know that gravity means seriousness. A grave situation. hehehe. Amazing video.
Most grave indeed :-) I'm glad the video was helpful!
Thanks Anthony. Although i have already finished my LoTS paper, this is valuable and current Law of the Sea and Int. Law students are soo lucky to have this in-depth case note.
Thanks so much!
Niiice.
Glad you enjoyed!
Ok I got questions ! If u r employed fulltime and mature student and want to study part time - is it better to go with the uni that offers trimester and pick one subject per trimester or go with the uni that offers semester but do 2 units per semester ? Next question is that can I study in QLD but do PLT in nsw and work in nsw? Is it okay if I do my degree online ?
Hi! Personally I think for part timers, trimester programs are always going to be more advantageous than semester programs, as you can study consistently. I would start with one subject per Trimester, then you can easily lift to two once you are comfortable studying, depending of course on your experience, the nature of your work/family/life demands, and the grades you are chasing. Online study can be very effective if done well. My experience is that very few universities, and VERY few lecturers, do it well. Online teaching is much, much more work than F2F teaching, and requires a different skill set. Make the uni PROVE to you that they have an online program that meets your needs. Best of luck!
I have an exam for international law coming up this friday you seem to release content for me at the perfect time! Thanks Anthony!
Good luck in the exam Declan!
It was a nice explanation but u can make it more presentable
I'm not 100 percent sure what you mean by presentable. I think most people who come to this channel though come for the content; I'm certainly no film maker, but I do my best. I also offer a 100% money back guarantee for the $0.00 people have to pay to use the channel lol
I JUST COMPLETED AN ASSESSMENT ON THIS CASE YESTERDAY!!!!!! Argh! This would have been amazing to review before I did my assessment. Lol
I hope you nailed your assessment anyway! :-)
Note to viewers: Images may be confusing because none of the images actual feature Sei Fujii, or represent his nuanced experience. The first image for example features, Fred Sakurai and Fred Ishihara, which was pulled from Discover Nikkei and contributed by Bill Watanabe. This video does not provide context nor credits the owner of the images.
watching from Cameroon..i am an LL.M student in corporate law university of Buea.
Thank you for watching - I wish you the very best for your studies!

I hope you found the video helpful! :-)
Thank you 🙏🏻
You're very welcome!
Anthony Marinac, I loved this video so much, I had to hit the like button!
Hey, thank you!
Lord Denning sentenced your great grandfather to transportation
Yeah nah. Coupla problems with that. First, Denning wasn't even born until 1899. Way too late for transportation verdicts. Second, with a surname like Marinac, what are the odds my family is British in origin? Buckleys. Thanks for watching though!
Hey Anthony, great video - thanks! In relation to Chief Justice Street's judgment certain parts seem contentious to me. Are there known contentious about his views expressed or is it fairly well accepted?
